The WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) has been adopted into UK legislation and will be implemented by the 1st July 2007 with the aim of reducing the amount of WEEE being disposed of into landfill sites. All European manufacturers must be registered with an accredited Producer Compliance Scheme (PCS) by the 15th March 2007.

Despite recent misleading articles in the Lighting press suggesting that Lumicom are the only accredited Compliance Scheme for lighting products this is not the case, there are several accredited Compliance Schemes, Northern Compliance Ltd. being one of them.
